ABOUT
Delaney "Laney" Alysa Wade is the photographer behind Transdimensional Photography. She focuses on scenery, live music, portraits, relationships, weddings, sports, and other events. "Laney" has recently had 18 of her photos published in a new magazine titled "Faire Magazine ". This publication will be on the streets in October of 2008. This is a magazine dedicated to the Renaissance Faire Community and patrons who attend fairs throughout the country.
Delaney coined the name "Transdimensional Photography" after a hiking trip into the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. While hiking, Delaney saw several "sun dogs", which are orbs made of ice crystals in the sky that capture the sun's reflection. These sun dogs looked almost like portals opening into other dimensions. She then combined this idea with the word "transform", as she is constantly transforming her life and the way she creates photographic art.
Her past experiences include playing guitar and doing lead vocals in an all-original "Gothic Metal" band (gothic meaning Old World ) with lyrics that focused on history, myths, legends, and Science Fiction. She has also coached youth soccer and football, played in softball leagues, ridden non-competitive Motocross, and tried riding bulls and bareback bronc's in her youth. She grew up on the quarter horse racing track where her father trained and raced horses, and also farmed for family members during her summer vacations. She currently works full-time as a contract computer technician in the aerospace industry. In her free time she enjoys hiking the Colorado Rockies where she makes her home, reading historical, Fantasy and Science Fiction Novels, attending Renaissance Festivals in historic garb, collecting historical reproduction clothing, fishing, seeing movies, writing, listening to music (Heavy Metal and Period music being her favorites), traveling to historical places (Civil War battlefields, in particular), spending time with her boyfriend (who she likes to use as a photo subject), and of course photography. She is divorced with twin teenage boys who currently live away from her.
Currently she uses a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 camera to do all of her photography. She would like to expand the type of camera she uses once she can afford other equipment. She has never taken photography classes and has just managed to have been born with a "good eye" for photography, as per the words of her peers.
Delaney is a supporter of the GLBT community and is very happy to do photography of all those in this community offering discreet services if needed.
